How I Shop with Millie Mackintosh: ‘It reminds me to get enough sleep!’

5 hours ago 2

Millie Mackintosh rose to fame as part of the original cast of the reality show Made in Chelsea, filming five series before leaving in 2013. She has since established herself as a fitness, health and beauty ambassador, releasing her own beauty collection with Boots in 2017, and publishing Made: A Book of Style, Food and Fitness.

After choosing to go alcohol-free, she shared her journey in the bestselling Bad Drunk, co-written with Dr Ellie Cannon. Mackintosh speaks candidly about the realities of motherhood, mental health and self-care on Instagram.

Where do you buy your food from?

I like to use Jago’s of Chelsea for meat, Bens greengrocers for organic fruit and veggies, and I get fish delivered from the Upper Scale. Otherwise, I will pop into Waitrose or Marks & Spencer.

What’s the best present you’ve given?

Surprising my mum with business class flights when I took her to the Caribbean for a girls’ trip. For me, the best gifts are experiences that create special memories.

… and the best present you’ve received?

My granny had a beautiful diamond ring that I always admired. When she passed away, it was given to me, and I wear it on special occasions. It makes me feel like she’s still with me.

The final beauty frontier? The great ‘shopping experience’ of Space NK

I love Space NK in Duke of York Square. I actually used to work at Space NK as a makeup artist many moons ago, so I’ve always had a soft spot for it and still love it as a shopping experience. It has such great brands, and there are always so many new products to discover.

How do you make your coffee at home?

I recently ditched caffeine because it gives me anxiety. I am more of a hot water and lemon girl in the morning now, but I do still love a decaf from Hagen – I still love the taste and smell.

What’s your biggest splurge?

I rarely buy designer items unless they’re secondhand, but last year I splurged on a pair of jeans on Net-a-Porter. They’re from Khaite and cost £500. I get compliments whenever I wear them, and they are amazing quality, so I think they were worth it!
